The Countess de Presle understood, back in the late XIXth century, the damaging effects of pollution, which was yet less important than nowadays. This fluid has protective virtues and forms a barrier against outside attacks. The zinc oxide and other minerals matify and soften the skin while the wheat proteins have a stretching and restructuring effect. An excellent make-up base, it helps make-up last longer. For dry skins and in cold weather however, it is advised to put a day cream on the base, a soft cream or plant cream depending on the skin.

The author
Maison Detaille was established in 1905, named after the Countess de Presle’s husband. Customers of the famous little, Parisian-based, store are queens, princesses and nobles as well as various artists and personalities.

The object
The Countess felt her skin dehydrate when driving one of the first existing cars, due to the lack of a windshield. She discussed the matter with a chemist friend Berthelot, who created a hydrating lotion, the ‘Baume Automobile’. Other skin care products and perfumes followed.

All orders will be delivered by our carrier partner Bpost Business, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and will require a signature upon receipt. You can choose to deliver your order at home or at work. Shipping costs per package for Belgium are 7,5 €. FREE SHIPPING in Belgium on orders over 100 €. The delivery time is 2 to 3 working days.
