Falcon since 1920

THE AUTHOR

Since the 1920s Falcon Enamelware, founded in the Black Country area in the north of England, has been an icon of British home life. Ice white with a distinctive blue rim, it is instantly recognizable as a design classic. As with almost any design segment or discipline, the classics never go out of style. Falconware is perfect for today—it's affordable, durable, has a clean, no nonsense aesthetic and, due to its long history, is familiar and comforting.

THE OBJECT

As well as timeless elegance, Falcon Enamelware has enduring strength. Enamelware is porcelain fused onto heavy-gauge steel, giving it many admirable qualities - durability, smoothness and chemical-resistance. It can assume brilliant, long-lasting colours, and cannot burn. If you drop it, it may chip but it won’t break. When this happens the steel below naturally oxidises and the enamelware remains safe to use. Plus, in our opinion, it gains a little more character! It is dishwasher-safe and oven-safe up to 530F / 270C, it can also be used on gas and electric hobs.
